T-Shirt Sales in Restaurant and Online, the Ultimate Rock Band(TM) Prize Pack Sweepstakes, and Local Fundraising Events Support Music Education Programs
TAMPA, Fla., Aug. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Cheeseburger in Paradise - known for its Jimmy Buffett-inspired beach party setting - is once again calling on music lovers to help "Save the Music" in public schools. In teaming up with the VH1 Save The Music Foundation for a second year to raise funds and awareness for instrumental music programs in public schools, Cheeseburger in Paradise is encouraging guests to help keep the legacy of music education alive.
From August 17 through October 31, 2009, specially-designed "Cheeseburger in Paradise Saves The Music" t-shirts (Adult shirts $15, Youth shirts $12) will be available for purchase at all 34 restaurants located in 17 states and (new this year!) online at www.CheeseburgerinParadise.com/SaveTheMusic. All profits from t-shirt sales will help VH1 Save The Music Foundation purchase new musical instruments for a public school.
"Music is a central inspiration behind our restaurants - we're thrilled to be teaming up with the VH1 Save The Music Foundation again, and hope to see even more people coming out to support this great cause in 2009," said Steve Overholt, President of Cheeseburger in Paradise.
Participants can register to win The Ultimate Rock Band(TM) Prize Pack brought to you by Cheeseburgers in Paradise online at www.CheeseburgerinParadise.com/SaveTheMusic (no purchase necessary). The winner will be announced in November 2009.
The Ultimate Rock Band Prize Pack includes:
-- XBOX with custom Cheeseburger in Paradise skin
-- Rock Band, the game
-- 1 year subscription to Xbox 360
-- Gift card to purchase Jimmy Buffett songs via Xbox 360
Now in its second year, Cheeseburger in Paradise's campaign to help "Save the Music" will also rally local communities through restaurant-hosted fundraisers supporting area school music programs. The local events, to be held in September and October together with the restaurants' music program partners, will contribute a portion of the evening's sales to the local program. In addition, the music program partners with the highest sales during their restaurant event will earn a $1,000 donation, courtesy of Cheeseburger in Paradise, to be given to their local school.
During the first year of the partnership, Cheeseburger in Paradise raised $17,500 to benefit VH1 Save The Music to be used to help restore an instrumental education program in a New Jersey public school. This year's campaign will complete the funding for a school, and to purchase new musical instruments for a full program valued at $30,000.
