Comcast Delivers Hoosiers New Local Sports Channel

Customers Can Watch High School, College and Professional Games, Live and On Demand

FISHERS, Ind., Aug. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Comcast, Indiana's leading provider of entertainment, information and communication products and services, today announced the launch of HomeTown Sports Indiana, a new channel devoted exclusively to airing high school, college and professional sports, featuring Indiana teams. Exclusively available at no additional cost to Comcast digital cable customers throughout Central Indiana, HomeTown Sports Indiana will feature exciting action on and off the field, both live and through Comcast's signature On Demand service.

"Comcast is committed to delivering the best in local programming," said Scott Tenney, Senior Vice President for Comcast's Indianapolis Region. "We're excited to offer HomeTown Sports Indiana to our customers as part of our robust sports line-up, ensuring that Comcast remains the number one destination for hometown sports programming throughout Central Indiana."

Available on Channel 81, customers can watch HomeTown Sports Indiana to catch a range of local sports programming, featuring high school sports action and state championships; college teams such as Ball State, Butler University, IUPUI, Franklin College and Wabash College; professional games including the Fort Wayne TinCaps, Indianapolis Indians and Fort Wayne Komets; local racing and other sports-related programming.

All programming that airs on HomeTown Sports Indiana will also be available to customers On Demand under "Sports" in the "Get Local" section of the On Demand library to view whenever it is convenient for them, with the ability to pause, fast forward and rewind selections. HomeTown Sports Indiana is produced by Noblesville based HomeTown Television Corporation.

"Since 2002, HomeTown has produced nearly 1,000 sporting events for television and the web," commented Rick Vanderwielen, HomeTown's President. "HomeTown Sports Indiana will not only air our productions, but become a portal for other small producers looking to match their sporting events with interested viewers."

HomeTown Sports Indiana is the latest example of Comcast's commitment to providing its customers the best in sports programming. Just last week, Comcast debuted ESPNU on its Digital Preferred lineup and earlier this week, the company introduced ESPN360, ESPN's 24/7 broadband sports network, to its high-speed Internet customers, making both services available at no additional cost.
