The Winemakers Reality TV Series Announces Casting Calls in San Francisco and New York for Season II
WASHINGTON, July 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Innovative reality program developed for Public Television announces open casting calls for second season. The Winemakers joins twelve men and women as they compete for a chance to create and launch their own nationally distributed wine label. The show brings together a passionate, diverse group of contestants; wine education and an inside look into what it takes to become a successful winemaker from the vineyard to the boardroom.
Season I of The Winemakers took place in Paso Robles, California and is set to release September 2009 during California Wine Month. Season II of The Winemakers will also begin filming in France's Rhone Valley in September 2009. Producers chose the Rhone Valley because of its beauty and diversity. According to series producer Kevin Whelan, "We selected the Rhone Valley for the same reason we decided to shoot in Paso Robles. They're both dynamic and forward thinking wine regions and amazingly beautiful, but they're also genuine places that embrace the concept that wine making begins in the vineyard."
Sixteen semi-finalists will be selected for season II through live auditions in San Francisco on July 27th and in New York on August 3rd, and by video tape submission. Additionally, contestant hopefuls can "WIN A SPOT" on the show. Doc City Productions, the production company behind The Winemakers series, reserves the final, 16th contestant spot for the individual who creates the most innovative and talked about online social networking campaign to justify why they should earn a place on "The Winemakers." "We're expecting to find some highly savvy, creative and bold people out there doing everything they can to win this spot and compete to make his or her dream come true; a quality held by the world's greatest winemakers who have always taken an innovative approach to their craft by continually pushing the envelope," explains Whelan who devised this casting format.
Interested parties should visit the series' website www.thewinemakers.tv for submission information. The cast will be announced August 7th, 2009 with principal filming to begin in mid August on California's Central Coast before moving on to the Rhone Valley, France.
