"Harry Potter 6" currently represents 96% of all ticket sales on Fandango. Some additional updates from Fandango:
-- Fandango has sold out more than 3,000 midnight and early morning
showtimes for "Harry Potter" across the country, from Anchorage to
Fort Lauderdale.
-- On Tuesday, Fandango sustained a rate of selling ten "Harry Potter"
tickets per second.
-- Theater owners added show times throughout the night, but even 4:00
a.m. showtimes ended up selling out in advance online.
"It's rare for a movie to sell out so many of its midnight and early morning showtimes," says Rick Butler, Chief Operating Officer of Fandango. "But the positive word-of-mouth on 'Half-Blood Prince' has been particularly powerful. We expect heavy repeat business throughout the next few weeks, and especially when 'Potter' gets a wide release in the IMAX and 3D formats on July 29."
