Rockville Town Square Hosts Second Annual Summer Events Series

Celebrate the Summer Months with Children's Entertainment, Movies and Live Music

ROCKVILLE, Md., June 8 /PRNewswire/ -- From watching a high-energy magic show to taking in a jazz band to enjoying a movie on a warm evening under stars, Rockville Town Square has something for children and adults of all ages. Rockville Town Square is excited to host a dynamic series of outdoor activities and entertainment beginning the week of June 1st through August 13th.

Rockville Town Square invites members of the community to enjoy free weekly events including Kids Nights, Outdoor Movies and Concerts on the Square, sure to appeal to everyone in the family. Along with these activities, stores and restaurants will offer carry-out dinner specials and other promotional events.

"We are excited to again host this popular program to provide the community of Rockville a place to come together with friends and family and enjoy a variety of summer activities while experiencing the range of amenities at Rockville Town Square," said Robin McBride, vice president, mid-Atlantic region chief operating officer for Federal Realty. In addition to the ongoing Mommy and Me program hosted on the third Tuesday of every month from May through October, at 10 a.m. to noon, Rockville Town Square will offer events geared toward children featuring live children's entertainment, "kids eat free" specials at participating restaurants, store discounts and more. The Kids Night on the Square events will be held every Tuesday night from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., with live stage shows at 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. The kick-off event on June 2 will feature Milkshake, and upcoming events include: Reptiles Alive, Rocknocerous and Speed and Thro.

Looking for a new and creative date night idea? Now the residents of Rockville can join neighbors for a free movie showing at Movies on the Square every Wednesday night at dusk (8:45 p.m.). Coming attractions include "Marley & Me," "Madagascar 2: Escape from Africa," "Hairspray," "Twilight," "Casablanca" and many more. Dine al fresco at one of the many restaurants with outdoor cafes or take advantage of boxed dinners to go and delivery service right to your seat on the plaza. Or, start your week off right on Monday nights with Cheap Date Night. Bring your date to Rockville Town Square for delicious dinner and shopping deals at participating Rockville Town Square stores and restaurants.

For kids and adults of all ages, there will be a host of Concerts on the Square, hosted by The City of Rockville. The concerts will take place each Thursday night from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., now through September 19th and include a variety of music styles including swing, jazz, brass bands and top 40 hits.
