Gore Unveils 'Join Gore & Change Your Life' Global Brand Campaign Showcasing Its Corporate Culture and Employment Opportunities

NEWARK, Del., June 25 /PRNewswire/ -- W. L. Gore & Associates Inc., recognized globally as an innovation leader and top workplace, today unveiled "Join Gore & Change Your Life," its first global employer brand campaign designed to attract potential job candidates and build a "talent pool" for the future. By sharing the experiences of people who actually work at Gore, the campaign paints a vivid picture of the Gore culture and demonstrates how being a Gore associate can change someone's life, as well as provide opportunities to create life-changing products.

The Join Gore & Change Your Life campaign, the foundation of which is a career microsite (www.gore.com/change-life), provides an inside look at Gore's distinctive entrepreneurial environment, a non-hierarchical, team-based culture that unleashes innovation and initiative. Launching in the U.S. today, the campaign includes print and online advertising, job boards, niche websites and college career platforms. Later this summer, the campaign will expand to Europe and Asia.
The campaign shares testimonials of Gore associates and their work on successful projects, including: the development of the revolutionary ELIXIR(R) Guitar Strings for enhancing sound; the creation of the GORE HELEX Septal Occluder that changes the way doctors treat patients with a serious heart defect; and the design of CROSSTECH(R) protective barrier fabrics that change the way firefighters respond to emergencies. The ads are designed to draw potential candidates to the microsite, where they can learn about the Gore culture, search for job opportunities and apply online.
Gore is looking for the best-qualified talent that fits with its unique working environment, individuals who will excel in its collaborative setting. "Gore is not right for everyone," said Steve Shuster, Gore associate. "Our process for finding the right talent involves a certain degree of self-selection, which means that we want job applicants to have enough information to decide that a career at Gore may not be the right fit after all. We feel it's important to give them tools to help make that decision before they go too far down the road."
Because Gore develops products that are based on leading-edge technologies, many opportunities at the company require specialized technical knowledge, experience and skills. "It's critical that we continue to attract people with these qualifications while building a pool of talented workers we can hire in the future," said Barbara Pizzala, Gore recruiting associate. "By focusing on product success stories, the campaign goes a long way toward educating potential job applicants about what we do. And just as important, it puts our collaborative culture front and center."
Currently, most job openings in the U.S. are in the Medical Division headquartered in Flagstaff and under expansion in Phoenix, Arizona. The new and expanded medical manufacturing facilities there will provide employment opportunities for a variety of skill levels, including jobs in R&D, manufacturing, engineering and production support. Beyond its initial focus on today's hiring needs in Flagstaff and Phoenix, this site will serve Gore as its employment needs continue to evolve around the globe.
