STORY SUMMARY:
All full-power television stations in the U.S. will cease analog transmission and broadcast only in digital beginning on June 12. The Federal Communications Commission makes it easy for consumers to get help with the transition - even after it happens.
It's not too late to get ready for the nationwide digital television (DTV) transition. Those who need help converting their television to digital can call 1-888-CALL-FCC, or visit www.dtv.gov and enter their ZIP code or state in the upper right-hand corner of the page to find local events, assistance and information. If consumers experience reception problems once the transition happens, they should rescan for channels and try adjusting their TV antennas.
It's also important for consumers to know that certain stations will be designated as "analog nightlight stations" and broadcast a signal in analog if there's a need for urgent news and information. These stations will also broadcast information on how to convert a television to digital.
