PickTheBand.com Announces Rockstar Mayhem Contest

SUNRISE, Fla., April 2 /PRNewswire/ -- PickTheBand.com, the world's first fan-run record has partnered with the Rockstar Mayhem Festival to present one unsigned metal band the opportunity of a lifetime. Through the Pick The Band website, bands will compete for the chance to perform at an exclusive Backstage VIP event on the July 31st tour stop in Cleveland, OH. The event will occur after the show and will be attended by tour organizers and the performing bands. This is one band's great opportunity to perform for their peers in the industry and make a name for themselves. Registration has already begun on the www.PickTheBand.com and will continue through May 25th 2009. The contest itself will begin on June 1st and voting will run through June 30th. Bands will have a chance to win additional prizes as well.

Bands should go to PickTheBand.com and submit the following:
-- An original music video
-- 2 original songs in MP3 format
-- A video of a live performance
-- 10-15 band photos

Once all the submissions are in they will be reviewed by our panel of judges that include: Producers Don Gilmore (Linkin Park, Good Charlotte) and Mudrock (Avenged Sevenfold, Godsmack) as well as Bennett Kaufman (President/CEO of The BK Entertainment Group, a leading producer management firm). The top bands will proceed to the fan voting competition, where ultimately the winner will be chosen. Fans wishing to vote can register as well at PickTheBand.com and will win a variety of great prizes.

"To be a part of the Rockstar Mayhem Festival is great for us and will be a great opportunity for one of these bands to get noticed," states Avin. "Previous winners of Pick The Band contest have recorded with Don Gilmore and Mudrock. The winners and even some of the runners-up have also received interest and offers from national labels as well as airplay and increased publicity."

Recently Pick The Band held a contest in partnership with the ASCAP "I Create Music" EXPO in which 15 unsigned bands competed for a variety of great prizes. The winner announced on April 1st was the Adam Ezra Group from Boston. The band won the opportunity to perform at the EXPO, $2500 and studio time.
