The DGA Award for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Feature Film has traditionally been one of the industry's most accurate barometers for who will win the Best Director Academy Award; only six times since the DGA Awards began in 1949 has the Feature Film winner not gone on to win the Oscar(R).

The Feature Film winner will be announced at the DGA Awards dinner and ceremony at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza Hotel on Saturday evening, January 31, 2009. To apply for a press credential to cover the DGA Awards, please go to www.dga.org. The deadline to apply for a credential is Friday, January 16, 2009.
