BSkyB Announces 1000 New Jobs
LONDON, January 28/PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- UK broadcaster BSkyB has announced the creation of 1000 new jobs as its
latest financial results for the half year to December 31st 2008 showed a
rise in both turnover and profits.
The jobs come as part of Sky's continued efforts to drive the take up of
its High Definition television offering which now stands at 31 dedicated
channels. In a separate move Sky is dropping the price of its HD set top box
to GBP49.
Signalling its confidence in the future BSkyB also increased its dividend
to shareholders by 5% to 7.5p.
