OAK BROOK, Ill., Jan. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- While Gov. Rod Blagojevich continues a national media tour, CLTV is providing viewers with unprecedented live coverage of the impeachment trial back home in Illinois.
On Monday, the cable news channel provided more than three hours of live coverage of day one of the proceedings on Springfield. Live extended coverage from the Senate chamber will continue until the resolution of the Blagojevich case.
"These are historic times in Illinois. CLTV is committed to bringing viewers local news as it happens," said Steve Farber, CLTV General Manager. "We are able to offer extended programming that just is not available anywhere else."
The impeachment coverage continues each night at 6:30 p.m. with "Garrard McClendon Live," a call-in program featuring viewer opinions and commentary.
CLTV has carried more than 40 hours of live Springfield coverage since the impeachment proceedings began in December.
In addition, CLTV was the only Chicago station offering live coverage Tuesday of Mayor Richard Daley's announcement of a new schools chief, Ron Huberman.
