4 years ago, Belgium was the first country where Sensation took place outside the borders of the Netherlands. And that's something we are still very proud of! But during the last few years Sensation has become an international phenomenon. In 2009 Sensation will take place in more than 22 countries -- spread out over 4 continents; for example shows in Chile, Australia, Spain, Czech, Poland, Germany ...

Together with the worldwide expansion of Sensation, the show has also grown in an exceptional way. In Belgium, the Ethias arena is the only venue that can hold the entire production, including the 80 meter long fountain show. The beautiful hall has proven its qualities several times by now and is the perfect location for the most wonderful spectacle of the year. Hasselt, here we come!

About Sensation

Sensation began in Amsterdam in 2000 and since then more than half a million people from all over the world have been able to witness one of the world's most spectacular dance and music events.

The very first Sensation took place in the Amsterdam ArenA -- home of the soccer club Ajax, and was experienced by 20,000 clubbers. Sensation as we now know it, was born in 2001. In honour of his brother Miles (who co-founded ID&T before he sadly died in a tragic car accident), Duncan Stutterheim, Sensation CEO, asked all Sensation visitors to dress in white, just like at Miles' funeral. Numbers had doubled from the first year, and 80 percent of the 40,000 (!) visitors respected Stutterheim's wish and showed up dressed in white.
