The Tablet Hotels Screening Series: Breaking Away From the Bland, in Hotels and Hollywood
The Tablet Hotels Screening Series: Breaking Away From the Bland, in Hotels and Hollywood
NEW YORK, Nov. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Many great movies come from outside the U.S. and are rarely seen by American audiences. As unforgettable cinema can sprout from unlikely places, the availability of award-winning foreign films is more crucial than ever. To shed light on these releases, Tablet Hotels (www.TabletHotels.com), the #1 online travel agency for luxury and boutique hotels worldwide, has begun a new installment of their monthly Tablet Screening Series.
"We've made a name for ourselves by scouring the globe and bringing our customers the world's best unique hotels. It's only natural that we would apply that same experience to film," says Laurent Vernhes, Co-founder and CEO of Tablet Hotels. "The Tablet Screening Series allows us to do so by bringing attention to lesser-known cinema."
Joining Tablet Hotels in this venture is FilmMovement.com. Once a month, the Tablet Screening Series will present a new, not-yet-released title from the Film Movement line-up at New York City's Bryant Park Hotel. With origins as diverse as Serbia, Uruguay and China, the films include winners from the Sundance and Venice film festivals; and the Tablet Screening Series is one of the only opportunities to see them on the big screen. The series began on October 21 with the acclaimed Belgian drama "Ben X", and continues on November 24 with "Under the Bombs", a gritty Lebanese film set against the country's 2006 conflict with Israel. All attendees receive a copy of Film: A World History, compliments of Abrams Books.
Invitations are attained by signing up for the Tablet Hotels newsletter at: http://www.tablethotels.com/newsletter/sweepstakes. These weekly emails contain information about upcoming screenings, as well as entry into Tablet Sweepstakes, where every month a 5-night stay in a fabulous Tablet Hotel is given away free.
Tablet Hotels is an authoritative selection of the planet's most extraordinary hotels, featuring dazzling photography, original editorial content, and thrilling ways to escape. For those who are sick of boring travel and formulaic entertainment, Tablet Hotels has the cure to break away from the bland, both in hotels and Hollywood. "When we launched our Tablet Screening Series all the showings were filled to capacity," says Vernhes, "but it was the smaller films, the ones not playing at the cineplex, that generated the most excitement. We knew we had to continue in that direction."
