STUBER PRODUCTIONS AND UNIVERSAL PICTURES EXTEND PACT THROUGH 2013
UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif., Nov. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Universal Pictures Executives today announced that Scott Stuber and Universal have extended Stuber's producing pact with the studio through 2013. A key producer with a long history at Universal, Stuber recently expanded Stuber Productions bringing on Pam Abdy to join key executives Alexa Faigen, Jon Mone, Andy Davis, Rick Solomon and Jared Pfeifer. Universal will release the company's upcoming David Wain comedy "Role Models" starring Paul Rudd and Seann William Scott on November 7th and in 2009 is scheduled to release "The Wolfman," directed by Joe Johnston and starring Benicio Del Toro and Anthony Hopkins; "Traveling," directed by Brandon Camp and starring Aaron Eckhart, Jennifer Aniston and Martin Sheen; and the sci-fi thriller "Repossession Mambo" starring Jude Law and Forest Whitaker and directed by Miguel Sapochnik. The company is currently in production on "Couples Retreat," one of several projects Stuber is producing with Vince Vaughn who stars in the film alongside Jason Batemen and Jon Favreau who is also writing the script.

Scott Stuber and his team have put together a prolific and varied slate of films that includes tent-pole comedies, star-driven dramas and thrillers, as well as high-profile books and original scripts by established and visionary writers. Since his producing agreement with Universal began in 2005, Stuber has worked with some of Hollywood's top talent and built relationships with some of the industry's foremost directors, writers and actors including: David Gordon Green on "Your Highness," a comedy, written by and starring Danny McBride; Guillermo Del Toro ("Hellboy II: Revenge of the Golden Army") who is directing a new version of Universal's classic "Frankenstein;" Timur Bekmambetov ("Wanted") in his re-imagining of Herman Melville's classic "Moby Dick;" writers Janet and David Peoples ("12 Monkeys") on "The Prisoner," based on the British television series which will be directed by Christopher Nolan ("Batman Begins"); writers Craig and Jeff Cox ("Blades of Glory") on "I, Thalus," a comedy set at the first Olympics from with Peter Segal ("Get Smart") attached to direct; and multiple projects with writer/director Gary Ross ("Pleasantville," "Seabiscuit").
Stuber's first production was "The Break-Up," produced with Vince Vaughn was followed by the summer 2006's comedy hit "You, Me and Dupree." Subsequent films released by Universal include Pete Berg's critically acclaimed film "The Kingdom" and the Martin Lawrence comedy "Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins."
