'Role Models' Co-Star Paul Rudd Promotes Big Brothers Big Sisters in a New PSA
'Role Models' Co-Star Paul Rudd Promotes Big Brothers Big Sisters in a New PSA
PHILADELPHIA, Pa., Nov. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- With today's release of Universal Pictures' new comedy, "Role Models," co-star and screenplay co-writer, Paul Rudd, has recorded a new public service announcement (PSA) promoting Big Brothers Big Sisters.
In the PSA Rudd appears on camera and says:
"I'm Paul Rudd. In my new movie -- "Role Models" -- I play a misguided mentor. It's R-rated comedy. And the truth is -- We're making light of a very serious subject. I love the concept of these one-to-one relationships -- what it does for the kids and the adults. That's why I'm a big fan of Big Brothers Big Sisters. They change how kids grow up -- helping them beat the odds in school and life. Support them at http://www.bigbrothersbigsisters.org/."
"Role Models," a rated-R comedy, is a spoof of a mentoring organization, where Rudd plays Danny, an immature energy drink salesman who along with Scott, his equally irresponsible co-worker, let their selfish carelessness land them in trouble with the law. Faced with the choice of a 30-day jail sentence or 30 days mentoring troubled kids, they chose the latter.
Emphasizing that the comedy is tongue-in-cheek with off color language and locker room humor, Big Brothers Big Sisters acknowledges that the film in some ways does illustrate the urgency and relevancy of the need for responsible mentoring.
The PSA is available for downloading on http://www.bigbrothersbigsisters.org/. Rudd and Big Brothers Big Sisters invite Americans to send it to adults who wish to support the organization's cause -- to change how our children grow up in America.
