KCRW Presents Left, Right & Center Onstage For Post-Election On-Air Live Broadcast and Online Live Streaming Audio and Video Webcast on Sun., Nov. 9th, 6 pm PST
Special bonus podcast, on-demand audio/video available later @ KCRW.com
SANTA MONICA, Calif., Nov. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- On Sunday, Nov. 9th from 6 to 7 pm (PST), Left, Right & Center - public radio's only dedicated political week-in-review program - takes to the stage before a live audience for a special one-hour broadcast including audience Q&A and live streaming video/audio webcast. The event takes place at the new Eli and Edythe Broad Stage at the Santa Monica College Performing Arts Center.
Produced and distributed by public radio station KCRW-Santa Monica, CA (89.9 FM; www.KCRW.com), Left, Right & Center is comprised of moderator Matthew Miller in the center, Robert Scheer on the left, Tony Blankley on the right, and from the independent blogosphere, Arianna Huffington. It is the station's most popular podcast, available as a free download at www.KCRW.com/lrc and on iTunes. The show airs and streams on KCRW Fridays, from 2:30 to 3 pm, repeated at 7 pm and is distributed to public radio stations nationwide.
Tickets for the live event sold out in less than five hours. But fans in Southern California and all across the globe can hear and watch this special show online at www.KCRW.com. In fact, the online audience will get to peek behind the scenes. Video and audio webcast streaming begins at 5:45 pm PST, 15-minutes prior to the live broadcast which begins at 6 pm, and will include the panelists' sound check and other pre-show warm up activities. The entire program will be available later as a special bonus podcast and on-demand audio and video at http://www.kcrw.com/lrc beginning Tues., Nov. 11.
Three of the political sparring partners have been with the show since it began in April, 1996: Huffington, Scheer and Miller. Arianna was the right at first but moving to LA's Westside she began tilting leftward, so the show needed to find a new conservative. David Frum occupied the post until he was called to write speeches for President George W. Bush. James K. Glassman and John O'Sullivan, respectively, occupied the seat until Reagan Republican and former Newt Gingrich spokesman Tony Blankley agreed to join the show permanently in 2005.
Left, Right & Center Live is sponsored by City National Bank and Morphosis Architects. Proceeds from the event benefit KCRW's programming.
