Kodak and TLC's 'Trading Spaces' Give Away a 'Picture Perfect Room Makeover'
Jillian Nash of Upland, IN Wins the Ultimate Room Pick-me-up
ROCHESTER, N.Y., Nov. 21 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Whether it is a shag carpet from the seventies, futons from college or just too much clutter, many homeowners have a room in their house that they would like to transform from drab to fab. The Consumer Digital Group at Eastman Kodak Company (NYSE:EK) and TLC's "Trading Spaces" searched the U.S. for a family room in need of a "Picture Perfect Room Makeover" and found the winning room in the home of Jillian Nash of Upland, Indiana. Selected as the grand prize winner out of hundreds of entries, Jillian will receive a visit from Paige Davis, the host of "Trading Spaces," and Hildi Santo Tomas, one of the show's most popular designers, to create a new look and transform the room.
After learning about the contest, Jillian knew she had to enter. Her current living room, used by her family's ministry, is hardly inviting with bare walls and no furniture. Hoping to use the room for youth group meetings and a play area for future foster children, she wants a space that feels warm and inviting.
Jillian, an expectant mom, submitted two photos of her living room along with a description of why her space needed a makeover. Through her photos, Jillian's enthusiastic presence, along with her heartfelt submission, proved that she and her family merit the Picture Perfect Room Makeover from Kodak and "Trading Spaces".
"We are so honored to be chosen and so excited for this makeover!" said Jillian. "We just moved and are in the process of renovating, this is such great timing. My husband and I watch Trading Spaces together and love Paige Davis."
Along with a $5,000 living room makeover, Jillian will also receive a package of KODAK DIGITAL Products valued at $1,100, including a KODAK EASYSHARE HDTV Dock, KODAK Theatre HD Player, KODAK EASYSHARE M1020 Digital Frame, KODAK EASYSHARE M1093 IS Digital Camera, KODAK EASYSHARE ESP 5 All-in-One Printer and a KODAK Photo Book showcasing the entire makeover experience.
"Trading Spaces' makeovers are known for using creative and easy decorating ideas that truly represent the personality of the homeowner," said Tim Palmer, director and vice president for Kodak's Americas marketing center. "Our goal in creating this contest with TLC was to give a homeowner the opportunity to experience this ingenuity and see how Kodak can add a personal touch to a room's design. All of the products that Jillian will receive will help transform her room into a space that truly showcases and brings to life the Nash family's personality and lifestyle."
Along with the grand prize winner, Kristen Gourley of Danville, IA, will be awarded the second place prize, a KODAK EASYSHARE M1093 IS Digital Camera, a KODAK EASYSHARE ESP 5 All-in-One Printer with Printing Bundle/Ink Cartridges and Paper and a KODAK EASYSHARE M820 Digital Frame. Kristen, a single mother of five, will put these products to work, snapping photos of her kids to help personalize her home.
The third prize winner, Kristin Van Schnydel of Little Chute, WI, will be awarded a KODAK EASYSHARE HDTV Dock and a KODAK EASYSHARE Z1012 IS Digital Camera. Kristin and her four girls love doing projects together and now she can document their fun!
