At First Annual Paso Robles Digital Film Festival, Film Legend Clint Eastwood to Present Lifetime Achievement Award to Oscar Winning Editor Joel Cox

PASO ROBLES, Calif., Nov. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- In the heart of Central California's "Cowboy Wine Country," the inaugural Paso Robles Digital Film Festival (PRDFF.com) continues through Tuesday, November 25. The theme for year one of what will be an annual festival exploring the film industry in the digital age is "Music In Film." Festival highlights include Hollywood legend Clint Eastwood's November 22 presentation of PRDFF's "Paderewski Lifetime Achievement Award for Contribution to the World of Music and Movies" to Academy Award-winning film editor Joel Cox.

Joel Cox will receive his award following a 1PM panel discussion on The History of Malpaso - Eastwood's production company - that will be moderated by PRDFF advisor Bruce Ricker and take place at the Paso Robles Inn. Cox has worked with Eastwood for thirty years on classic films including Bird, Million Dollar Baby, Mystic River, Changeling and Unforgiven, for which he won an Oscar (the film also won for Best Picture and earned Eastwood one of his two Best Director honors).

Eastwood himself will be saluted with "Make My Saturday," a tribute to his musical and cinematic genius that includes: screenings of the Eastwood-directed films Honkytonk Man (starring Eastwood and his son Kyle) and Bronco Billy; the documentary Martin Scorsese Presents Clint Eastwood's Piano Blues, produced by Bruce Ricker; and the Ricker-directed Tony Bennett: The Music Never Ends.

Other PRDFF highlights include the November 21 world premiere of This Is Not a Rodeo, a documentary that follows twenty professional bull riders who parted ways with rodeo in 1992 to start a bull riding league of their own. In keeping with the Festival's the "Music In Film" theme, music documentaries to be screened include: Martin Scorsese's classic 1976 concert film of the Band's final performance, The Last Waltz and his 2005 Bob Dylan documentary No Direction Home; D.A. Pennebaker's 1967 Dylan film Dont' Look Back; Jonathan Demme's Neil Young: Heart of Gold; as well as Blues Accordin' To Lightin' Hopkins, Los Lonely Boys: Cottonfields and Crossroads and Ballad of Ramblin' Jack, among others.

PRDFF will also present diverse live music shows during its six-day run with headliners including: The Bacon Brothers (actor Kevin Bacon and his brother Michael); folk legend Ramblin' Jack Elliott; the Kyle Eastwood Band, The Brubeck Institute Jazz Quintet, Ronnee Blakely and more.

Under the auspices of veteran event producer Benford Standley, film producer Bruce Ricker and TV producer Chuck Banner, a seven-camera high-definition shoot of the festival will be filmed for DVD and broadcast uses.
