Josh Kaplan concentrates his practice in entertainment and media, in addition to business organizations and transactions. Josh has represented a wide spectrum of clients from banks and large corporations to small privately held entities and public charities. Josh regularly works with musicians, producers, djs, artists, film makers, writers and designers to protect their work product through entity formation, contract negotiations, license agreements, and copyright and trademark registration. Josh often acts as a left brain guide to right brain thinkers in his effort to get creative clients to stop struggling quite so much and to treat their art as a business.

Prior to joining Stahl Cowen, Josh practiced at another well-known Chicago firm. Josh is a member of and panelist for the Future of Music Coalition as well as the author of Lawyer4musicians.com, a music industry blog. Josh is also a founder of the Range of Motion Project, a not for profit aiding amputees in developing nations. Josh received his Juris Doctor degree from Chicago-Kent College of Law in 2002.
