Public TV Co-Hosts Return to Central PA to Discuss Money Matters

Pennsylvania Securities Commission and AARP Host Free Financial Ed Seminars October 22-23

HARRISBURG, Pa., Oct. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Timing is everything, and the PA Securities Commission's (PSC) annual Money Matters seminars arrive just as economics and finance take center stage in investors' lives. The PSC, in partnership with AARP, will sponsor two free seminars aimed at planning and protecting retirement funds. Pam Krueger and Jack Gallagher, co-hosts of public television's MoneyTrack series will be the keynote speakers.

On Wednesday, October 22, area retirees are invited to attend "Money Matters: Protecting Your Retirement" at the Lancaster Host Resort. The event, which will run from 9 am to 2:30 pm, is free to the public, but advance registration is required by calling 1-800-600-0007. Sessions include "Retirement and You," "If It Sounds Too Good To Be True," "The Truth Behind the Sales Pitch," and "From Wall Street to Your Street."

On Thursday, October 23, the focus is on working adults. "Money Matters: Your Financial Future" will run from 6 to 9 pm at the Harrisburg East Holiday Inn. Krueger, Gallagher and other financial experts will present sessions entitled "Investing Through Life's Stages," "Taking the Mystery Out of Retirement Planning," "There's a Better Way to Work With Your Financial Adviser," and "If It Sounds Too Good To Be True."

Because it is more important than ever for investors to know the securities professional to whom they are entrusting their nest egg, participants at both events can walk away with a free printed report on the background and history of their securities professional and his/her company. Reports will be free to attendees.

Space is limited for both events. To reserve a seat, contact the Pennsylvania Securities Commission at 1-800-600-0007 (or online at www.psc.state.pa.us/moneymatters). Free refreshments and parking will be available, and everyone who attends will receive a free investor education toolkit.
