Michigan Housing Authority Announces Release of Cable Show 'House Michigan!'
MSHDA and Habitat for Humanity of Michigan - a Winning Combination
LANSING, Mich., Oct. 29 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Executive Director Keith Molin of the Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA) announced today that the latest edition of MSHDA's new cable program, House Michigan!, will begin airing this week on cable stations throughout the state. This month's program will explore MSHDA's partnership with Habitat for Humanity of Michigan (HFHM) and how the collaboration has resulted in thousands of affordable homes being built throughout Michigan.
"In this edition of House Michigan! we are going to hear from one of our most powerful partners as we continue telling the MSHDA story," Molin said. "Habitat for Humanity of Michigan represents the perfect example of how strong collaborations can elevate those people most in need of assistance to new heights of economic self-sufficiency."
Joining Molin is Dr. Ken Bensen, president of HFHM.
"Dr. Bensen has had decades of experience working with Michigan's Habitat programs, raising funds and overseeing construction on a massive scale," Molin said. "He travels the world over as an ambassador for Habitat projects and has made Michigan one of the most successful and largest Habitat organizations in the country."
House Michigan! is produced monthly, and programming provides practical information for Michigan residents regarding homeownership, affordable rental housing, ending homelessness and creating vibrant cities and neighborhoods.
Molin hosts the program and interviews invited guests, including MSHDA staff who administer Authority programs and outside partners who participate in MSHDA related initiatives.
House Michigan! has been released to more than 80 cable stations statewide and is expected to run multiple times throughout each month. New shows will be produced monthly. Check local listings for air dates and times.
MSHDA's vision in the 21st century centers around ideas to improve the quality of life for all Michigan residents by focusing on providing safe, affordable housing through homeownership and rental programs; ending homelessness; and revitalizing neighborhoods and downtowns through urban development initiatives - creating vibrant communities throughout Michigan. MSHDA's loans and operating expenses are financed through the sale of tax-exempt and taxable bonds and notes to private investors, not from state tax revenues.
