BEING DAD DVD Offers a Sneak Peek at Pregnancy From a Guy's Point of View

Available Now! Everything a Man Wanted to Know But Was Afraid to Ask!

LOS ANGELES, Oct. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- There are 4.3 million babies born in the U.S. each year but there's not one DVD for expectant dads ... until now. BEING DAD is a revealing, entertaining and inspirational DVD that offers invaluable advice and experiences for dads-to-be from fathers who have recently gone through the pregnancy and delivery process. It includes a wealth of advice from several experts in the field including an Obstetrician, Family Counselor, Midwife, Childbirth Educator and more. BEING DAD is available now.

"When I was pregnant, or at least my wife was, my friends and I were amazed at the lack of parenting tools for men," said Troy Jones, co-creator of BEING DAD. "We felt there was a real need for a product that was entertaining, brutally honest, and easy to watch. What we ended up with was a film filled with honest anecdotes and helpful advice from new fathers themselves, that any dad or dad-to-be can relate to. The feeling of being a father is universal and BEING DAD addresses pregnancy and birth from the man's point of view and provides an entertaining resource that couples can watch together to promote honest and open discussion."

"There was such a desire for information from all over the country that we decided to put a video together to help men prepare for parenthood," said creator Sam Holt.

BEING DAD brings together more than 40 remarkably honest dads in groups from all around the country and all walks of life. Covering everything from how they first found out about the pregnancy right through to the birth, it explores a broad range of subjects, including many rarely discussed openly like miscarriage and sex during pregnancy. Their honest and hilarious accounts of learning what not to say to a pregnant woman to the riveting stories about premature birth and the overwhelming joy of becoming a dad is entertaining for both men and women. The film reveals the fears, anxieties and relief that every first-time father lives through from the moment he hears the words, "Honey, I'm pregnant!" to the joyous moment he holds his baby in his arms.

Though focusing on the men's perspective, this raw and revealing DVD is also invaluable for moms-to-be because it gives them a rare glimpse into the unexpected mindset of men that often isn't seen or shared with their partners. It's the perfect gift to give an expectant dad.

BEING DAD runs approximately 80 minutes and includes over 60 minutes of additional bonus interviews and advice from several experts. It is being distributed throughout the U.S. and Canada by Seedsman Group, Inc. in Westlake Village, California.

About the Filmmakers

BEING DAD was the brainchild of Aussie friends Sam Holt and Troy Jones. Upon simultaneously learning their wives were pregnant, they began seeking answers to common questions, only to find there's actually very little material available for men. In their quest for answers, they quickly discovered they were not alone. Their first production in Australia instantly became a social phenomenon and broke all Australian sales records for special interest documentaries. Shortly thereafter, with support from the Australian government, segments from the film became widely-circulated countrywide through hospitals, birthing centers and prenatal classes. . They also saw the common shortage of helpful information geared towards men and a totally new and updated U.S. film project was born.
