Woodrow Wilson Presidential Exhibit: New Permanent Exhibit Will Open to the Public on October 7
WASHINGTON, Sept. 26 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- On October 7, 2008, to celebrate its 40th anniversary, the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars will unveil a new permanent exhibit depicting the life and legacy of Woodrow Wilson, America's 28th president. Memorabilia, historical information, and short films are among the exhibit's main features, which together serve as a wonderful tribute to, and fascinating exploration of, President Wilson, both as a scholar and a politician.
The public opening of the exhibit will take place from 12 noon to 2 p.m. and will include a ribbon cutting ceremony as well as remarks by Wilson Center Board of Trustees Chairman Joseph Gildenhorn, Wilson Center President and Director Lee H. Hamilton, and Dr. Fitz W.M. Woodrow, Jr., a relative of Woodrow Wilson.
"We can think of no better way to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars than to open this permanent exhibit that pays tribute to the Center's namesake," said Hamilton. "We encourage everyone to visit this exhibit and to gain a better and deeper understanding of Woodrow Wilson."
The Woodrow Wilson Presidential Exhibit will be permanently housed next to the Center's Memorial Hallway. After its opening on October 7, its hours of operation will be 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday-Friday. Admission will be free. For more information on the exhibit, please visit www.wilsoncenter.org/exhibit.
