Scion To Offer Free Shuttle Service During 2008 Cincinnati Midpoint Music Festival

Scion To Offer Free Shuttle Service During 2008 Cincinnati Midpoint Music Festival

CINCINNATI, Sept. 18 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Scion, the youth brand of Toyota, will keep thousands of feet moving to the music and riding in style rather than pounding the pavement walking venue-to-venue during the 2008 Cincinnati MidPoint Music Festival (MPMF) on Sept. 25-27, 2008. By offering a free shuttle service all three nights, Scion will cut commute times of music lovers allowing them more time to enjoy the tunes of some 200 bands scheduled to perform.

This year the festival will feature more than 185 bands on 17 stages throughout the downtown area and organizers are expecting to attract more than 40,000 ticket holders to the weekend-long festival.

"We're excited to have Scion as the "official ride" of this year's festival, and we're equally excited to offer festivalgoers a quick and convenient way to travel between concert venues," said Dan McCabe, executive producer of the Cincinnati MidPoint Music Festival. "Scion is a perfect fit for the MPMF and we're delighted to have them as a sponsor."

Serving as the "official ride," 20 Scion xB's will continuously shuttle festivalgoers on a route that models Cincinnati's proposed streetcar line, making stops at nine locations running north on Main Street, west on 12th Street, back south on Walnut Street, and east on 5th.

The rides are free for everyone with a one- or three-day MidPoint wristband and will run from 7-11 p.m. Thursday and 8 p.m.-midnight Friday and Saturday.

"Scion is pleased to have the opportunity to sponsor the MidPoint Music Festival," said Scott Neiheisel, regional marketing manager, Toyota Motor Sales, Cincinnati Region. "This sponsorship provides us the perfect opportunity to say 'thank you' to the people who have made Scion such a success. That's really the most important thing for us."

As part of the sponsorship, Scion will also raffle off prize packages to five lucky winners, each of whom will receive a pair of three-day festival passes. In addition, a grand prize winner will receive two additional three-day concert passes, dinner for four at Dewey's Pizza, dedicated use of a Scion xB shuttle on all three nights and an Eastwood guitar.

Interested people can stop by any of the five Cincinnati Area Scion dealerships for their chance to win. All entries must be submitted by noon on Monday, Sept. 22, 2008. Winners will be contacted on Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2008.
