The Austin Chronicle calls HUMBOLDT COUNTY "...a pitch perfect directing debut" and "a smart, moving, and altogether canny glimpse into the heart of a shell-shocked American dream."
In the film, Peter Hadley (Jeremy Strong) is a promising yet disillusioned medical student who, after being failed by his professor (Peter Bogdanovich), stumbles upon a remote community of counterculture marijuana farmers -- and a warmly embracing, yet eccentric family played by Frances Conroy, Fairuza Balk, Chris Messina, Brad Dourif, and newcomer Madison Davenport.
From directors Darren Grodsky and Danny Jacobs, who also co-wrote the screenplay, HUMBOLDT COUNTY is a story of the human soul in search of happiness, and the unexpected places we can sometimes call home.
HUMBOLDT COUNTY is the latest installment in the HDNet Movies "Sneak Preview" series. Only HDNet Movies presents these exclusive "Sneak Previews" of films to viewers before they premiere in theaters. All Sneak Preview films are free to HDNet Movies subscribers.
HUMBOLDT COUNTY premieres on HDNet Movies on Wednesday, September 24 at 8:15 p.m. ET with encore presentations at 10:00 p.m. ET and 11:45 p.m. ET.
