Radio Stations Unite to Boost Hurricane Ike Recovery Efforts

NAB Radio Show attendees in Austin, stations nationwide, urged to

WASHINGTON, Sept. 17 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- With radio broadcasters traveling to Texas this week for the annual NAB Radio Show in Austin, NAB is distributing a special radio public service announcement (ftp://ftp.nab.org/downloads/psa/Hurricane/AC2770_DRFPSAHurricane30.mp3) nationwide urging listeners to make a donation to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund to boost recovery efforts from Hurricane Ike.

NAB President and CEO David K. Rehr sent an email to radio stations across America today urging radio broadcasters to unite in a massive PSA campaign aimed at boosting the recovery efforts.

Specifically, Rehr asked stations to unite in a 'roadblock' effort, designating 1:00 p.m. EST on Friday, September 19 as a time when radio stations nationwide should consider airing the PSA simultaneously.
