Latin Heat Online & Livier Productions Announce Strategic Alliance to Further Latino Programming
latinheat.com to Leverage Their Increase of Online Hits by Over Half a Million in Two Months
HOLLYWOOD, Calif., Sept. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Latin Heat Online, a division of Latin Heat Entertainment, today announced that it has entered into a multi- faceted strategic alliance with Livier Productions which includes added web distribution for their new web series Ylse and the cross-promotion of both company brands via the latinheat.com website and the web series. Latin Heat.com has seen its online hits jump by over half a million in just two months, with the addition of video. Ylse, the first web series on the Latin Heat website, will be an added asset.
Actress/producer Ruth Livier (Resurrection Blvd., Drag Me to Hell, Los Campeones de la Lucha Libre) heads Livier Productions and stars in the recently premiered new groundbreaking web series Ylse, which follows the title character up the journalistic ladder in this not so politically correct comedy. Ylse struggles with her professional life, while navigating the unique circumstances of those living a dual existence: being an American woman of Mexican descent and working in the male-dominated entertainment news industry.
"I am proud to see Ruth creating her own opportunities," said Bel Hernandez, Publisher and CEO of Latin Heat Entertainment. "This web series stands out for the strong and positive portrayal of Latinas of all ages. Latin Heat is honored to be able to partner with Livier Productions to introduce our viewers to a series where not only is the lead character a Latina but someone who stands up for what she believes."
"I will continue to create projects that more accurately reflect our experiences and give us a voice," said Livier. "And thanks to Bel Hernandez and Latin Heat Online for giving us the opportunity to reach a broader audience! I am thrilled to be partnering with Bel. She has been an unwavering force in our industry for years and her support is a key factor to the continued success of Ylse!"
Ylse, which has seen incredible success on the web via Ylse.net, YouTube & MySpace and with subscriptions available via iTunes, will in turn weave Latin Heat Entertainment's magazine into the storyline in upcoming episodes. Season one of the series is currently just past the halfway mark: Webisode 4 of 6. All four episodes can currently be seen on Latinheat.com.
Series director Joe Camareno says, "Ylse is about action not complacency. It's about finding the power in your own voice and of course realizing that, in acting on it, there are repercussions, positive or negative. It's about discovering that we can make a difference regardless of how insignificant we may think that contribution might be."
In addition to featuring the first web series ever on the Latin Heat website, Latin Heat Online will also include web teasers of each new episode of the series, as well as featured interviews with the show's execs and behind the scenes webisodes conducted by Emmy award winning host Marabina Jaimes.
This strategic alliance came about because both women recognize the need to support Latino-themed programming. Hernandez, as a female Latina entrepreneur herself, saw the opportunity after attending the Ylse World Premiere Party back in August.
Ylse, which bridges reality and fantasy in the style of Ally McBeal and Larry Sanders, is written by the show's star Ruth Livier, directed by Joe Camareno (Pasiones Obsesionantes, Virgin Falls, Revenge of the Bimbot Zombie Killers) and executive produced by Livier and Camareno. Season Two of Ylse will also add to its dynamic production roster, the talented Herbert Siguenza of Culture Clash, as writer and new cast member of the show which already features an all-star cast including Marlene Forte (Little Girl Lost: The Delimar Vera Story, Star Trek 2009, ER), Alejandro de Hoyos (GB: 2525, Until Next Time, The Bold and the Beautiful) and series creator/writer Livier.
