Cherrytree Records Head Martin Kierszenbaum Named President, Pop & Rock A&R, Interscope Records
SANTA MONICA, Calif., Sept. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Head of Cherrytree Records and President of International Operations for Interscope Geffen A&M will now add the title of President, Pop & Rock A&R, Interscope Records to his duties. In doing so, Kierszenbaum will now oversee the label's pop and rock roster and A&R staff.
Prior to establishing Cherrytree Records, Kierszenbaum signed the Russian duo t.A.T.u. and British group Keane to Interscope which sold 6 million and 9 million albums world wide respectively.
In 2005, Kierszenbaum launched Cherrytree with the release of Canadian singer-songwriter Feist's acclaimed album Let It Die. Feist's second album for the label, 2007's The Reminder, has been both a critical and commercial hit, earning gold status and four Grammy nominations.
Other notable signings to Cherrytree include Robyn, Tokio Hotel and Lady Gaga.

Kierszenbaum began his career in 1988 working in the mailroom at PolyGram Music Group. In 1989, he was hired by Warner Bros. as International Publicist until 1991 when Kierszenbaum moved to A&M Records eventually becoming Vice-President of International and working with such multi-platinum artists as Sting, Sheryl Crow, and Soundgarden. Kierszenbaum joined Interscope Geffen A&M in 1998 to run the International division of the newly created IGA Group.
Kierszenbaum attended the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. He has also earned an M.A. from the Annenberg School for Communication at University of Southern California.
