Emmy Award-winning dancer and choreographer Yaelisa, the company's artistic director, is among the top Flamenco artists in the nation. She's even conquered Flamenco's native Spain, where she was one of 11 choreographers (and the only American) invited to present her work at the prestigious Certamen de Corografia in Madrid. Her approach to Flamenco is that of the purest Flamenco traditions from Spain. She seamlessly blends the music and dance while weaving improvisation into the mix, allowing each voice its own time and space. Yaelisa is best known locally as the artistic director of Irvine Barclay Theatre's annual New World Flamenco Festival.

The Orange County Great Park is located on the site for the former El Toro Marine Corps Air Station in Irvine. Visitors to the Park can now enjoy balloon flights, Hangar 244 Cafe', concert and dance programs and picnics in the Preview Park. Last month, an historic PV-1 Ventura night fighter plane, a type of plane that once flew out of El Toro Marine Corps Air Station was donated to the Great Park for its future Great Park Aviation Museum project.
When completed, the Orange County Great Park will be a 1,347 acre metropolitan park. It will provide a wide array of active and passive uses, including a 2.5 mile canyon and lake, miles of walking and biking trails, a cultural terrace, Orange County's largest sports park and a botanical garden.
