Mercury Prize Nominees British Sea Power to Play at the Highest Pub in the British Isles

- British Sea Power to Host Festival - Sing Ye From The Hillside! at
Legendary Tan Hill Inn This Weekend.

British Sea Power, recently short listed for a prestigious Nationwide
Mercury Music Award, are about to fill the Yorkshire Dales with song,
hosting a three day rock festival August 29-31 at the highest pub in the
British Isles.

The band, who are Sony/ATV Music Publishing signed songwriters and Rough
Trade recording artists, hold their inaugural Sing Ye From The Hillside!
festival at The Tan Hill Inn in North Yorkshire this weekend.

Their current album entitled "Do You Like Rock Music?" is a Mercury Prize
album of the year nominee this year. The awards are to be held September 9th
in London.

Known for finding more unusual places to play, BSP recently played
London's Natural History Museum. Tan Hill is renowned for its breathtakingly
remote setting, high up in the Yorkshire Dales. The Tan Hill Inn is the pub
of dreams. At 1,732 feet above sea level, it is the the highest pub in the
land. Now, these cherishable heights will host a whole weekend of rock music,
featuring British Sea Power's own beer on tap at the pub.

This three-day, two-night festival will feature three separate and
different BSP sets by members Yan and Hamilton Wilkinson, Matthew Wood and
Martin Noble. There will be a full supporting musical programme, plus all the
other attractions you will only get at Tan Hill - husky racing, duck-herding,
a pub quiz, tug 'o war and an attempt to record the loudest ever human voice.
This is the right place for the latter - the Tan Hill barman has featured in
Guinness World Records in this very category.

To top it all at the pub at the top of the world, British Sea Power have
been invited by local brewers the Dent Brewery to create their own BSP beer,
which will be on tap throughout the weekend. Tan Hill will be donating all
profits from the BSP beer to charity. Those attending will also be able to
buy the beer in bottled form.

BSP guitarist Noble says: "Where else in the world can you get to play to
a few ducks and a sheep? The last time we played Tan Hill it was
unforgettable. This time we're there for three days. God knows what will
happen."
