Comedians to Honor Steve Tisch at the 6th Annual Tom Arnold Celebrity Roast

All Proceeds to Benefit the Kayne Eras Center

LOS ANGELES, Aug. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- On Friday, September 12, 2008, The 6th Annual Tom Arnold Celebrity Roast will honor Academy Award-winning producer and New York Giants Co-Owner, Steve Tisch. The Roast will be held at the Beverly Hills Hotel and will benefit the Kayne Eras Center program of the Exceptional Children's Foundation. The Kayne Eras Center, created in 1980, is a state of the art, multi-service special education K-12 school and therapy center in Culver City, serving over 550 children, youth and adults and their families annually.

The unforgettable evening will begin with a cocktail reception at 7 PM, followed by a dinner and live auction. Tom Arnold will then serve as master of ceremonies as Steve Tisch is roasted by some of Hollywood's best comedians.

The Tom Arnold Celebrity Roast honors an individual for their philanthropic work involving children and education. Steve Tisch is the only person ever to have received both the Lombardi trophy, for his victory in Super Bowl XLII, and an Academy Award, for his work on Forrest Gump. He has not only excelled professionally, but he continues to do philanthropic work to help those who need it most. He is extremely active in many different charities throughout Los Angeles, including the Kayne Eras Center.

A stellar line-up of some of today's funniest comedians will be on hand to help reach the fundraising goal of over $1 million that will benefit the Kayne Eras Center. Talent will include top comedy headliners. Previous roasters have included Bob Saget, Vinnie Favorito, Craig Shoemaker, Stan Winston, Bob Zany, Judy Tenuta, Ralphie May, Red Buttons, Earthquake, Dom Irrera, Jimmy Pardo, Anthony Clark, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bobcat Goldwaithe, Sarah Silverman, Michale Irvin, Ed McMahon and Tommy Davidson. Roast chairs include Stephen Shapiro, Skip Bronson, Suzanne Kayne and Peter Morton.

About Tom Arnold

Tom always says that charity work is the most important thing in his life, and he is fortunate to be able to donate not only time and money, but also his celebrity. The Race to Erase MS is one of Tom's favorite charities. From his position on the entertainment committee, Tom not only helps plan but also emcees and contributes to the auction. For the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation, Tom mans a booth at the yearly carnival (a major fundraiser), engaging attendees while raising funds. Other charities that are close to his heart and to which he has made significant contributions are Best Buddies, a charity started by Anthony Shriver that pairs mentally challenged people with college kids and jobs, Camp del Corazon, a camp for children with heart disease, The Kayne Eras Center, Promises Foundation, Carousel of Hope, Arnold's Inner City Games, The Hollenbeck Christmas Giveaway, and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Tom also helps young people struggling with alcoholism and addiction on a daily basis. Over the years he has done interventions, located rehabilitation centers and placed patients, worked with families and sponsored weekly recovery meetings in his home. Tom has also provided two fully funded writing scholarships to students at the Indian Hills Community College in his hometown of Ottumwa, Iowa, as well as a first chance scholarship program at the University of Phoenix.
