Leading Outdoor Network Celebrates July 4 with the Launch of New Fishing Shows for the Entire Family
TEMECULA, Calif., July 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Outdoor Channel, America's Leader in Outdoor TV, will launch two new programs on the network's already popular "Friday Night Fishing" programming block on July 4th. As part of the initiative to provide better-quality programming that directly targets the network's core audience of outdoorsmen and women, Outdoor Channel is pumping up its fishing lineup with a mix of star power and reality competition.

Fly Fishing the World
One of the longest-running and most award-winning outdoor programs on
TV, Fly Fishing the World features celebrity guests traveling the globe
with the show's creator and host, John Barrett, in search of the
ultimate angling adventure. From the remote Arctic regions of Russia
and Iceland to the southern reaches of New Zealand, Barrett has taken
celebrities such as Michael Keaton, Matthew Fox, Liam Neeson and Nikki
Taylor to some of the most remote and ideal fishing locations in the
world. In addition to fly fishing, each episode offers viewers insight
into the people, culture and wildlife of each location. Fly Fishing
the World premieres Friday, July 4th at 8:30 PM Eastern.
The Catch: Costa Rica
This high-octane competition reality series casts away 12 amateur
fishermen and women to Costa Rica where they must live together and
out-fish the competition for a chance to reel in $50,000 and the title
of Ultimate Fisherman. In the 13-episode series, led by host Aurelia
Riley and three fishing experts, the competitors set out to learn the
art of angling on the coastal waters of Costa Rica. At the conclusion
of each episode, contestants vote to send one angler home. The 12
amateur fishermen and women bring diverse personalities to the
experience, including a school teacher, a used car salesman, a retired
grandfather, a boat captain, a model and a computer technician. Only
one determined contestant will have the perseverance and skill to win
the battle with these graceful monsters of the sea to become the
Ultimate Fisherman and take home the prize. The Catch: Costa Rica
premieres Friday, July 4th at 10 PM Eastern.
