Big Event Puts Small Town on the Map

Big Event Puts Small Town on the Map

PAINESVILLE, Ohio, July 7 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Pack up and hit the road for Ohio's and possibly the nation's largest free music festival on July 18th through the 20th with 35+ acts performing continuously on 3 stages from all over Ohio, the East Coast, and United States during a three day music festival. Free music, 30 fabulous food vendors, and a beer garden with micro brews and wine tasting all in one place, bring your bag chair and kick back in Painesville's beautiful tree lined Veterans Park in the heart of the historical district. For some it is a reminder of younger years and for many others it's something only stories are told of and a way to get a glimpse of what the legendary concerts would have been like. If you think you would like to experience a virtually non-stop three day concert you need to be in Painesville, Ohio for the Annual Party in the Park.

On Sunday evening when the party does end the performing bands will have played for over 45,000 partiers. The weekend will feature bands from all genres including: Jazz, Folk-rock, Reggae, Blues, Rockabilly, Irish, Latin, Soul, Funk, and Rock. This year's feature bands will be the Legendary JC's from Orlando, Florida; and Deals Gone Bad from Chicago, Illinois; and Cleveland's hometown Reggae ambassador, Carlos Jones and his P.L.U.S. Band. This is the most unique musical experience you will ever find anywhere. It also will be hosting an independent film festival. Pam Harting, the events chairperson said: "Last year's event drew crowds form 31 counties, 20 states, and 3 countries and they could not believe we had this kind of musical lineup in such a small town all for FREE!" Gabe Cicconetti, the entertainment chairman, went on to say that they try to cover as many musical genres as possible to attract a wide spectrum of music lovers. He also said, "This year's line up is going to put Party in the Park over the top."

Some say this is to be the best display of this annual music festival yet. This three day long event truly has something for everyone. With all of the free music, which alone will interest people of all ages, there are games, food from all ethnicities, and a fenced in supervised Kid Zone children's area all organized by Painesville Community Improvement Corporation.

If you think you're a hard-core rocker, you should compete in a totally psychedelic Guitar Hero competition sponsored by Best Buy(R) and test your rock 'n' roll skills against some of the best around. For more information on the shows and schedule details, go to www.myspace.com/ppitp
