First Kids' Show for Gay Families to Appear in Major International Film Festivals

Dottie's Magic Pockets to Appear in the Frameline32: San Francisco International LGBT Film Festival and Outfest 2008: The Los Angeles Gay and Lesbian Film Festival

PORTLAND, Ore., June 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Production company Pink Pea announced that Dottie's Magic Pockets -- the first children's program for gay and lesbian families -- will appear in two major international film festivals. The program will be screened in the Frameline32: San Francisco International LGBT Film Festival on June 22, and is the only children's program to be accepted to Outfest 2008: The Los Angeles Gay and Lesbian Film Festival, screening on July 13.

"I am overjoyed to be able to screen programming made specifically for LGBT families and created by a lesbian mom. As the mother of a 5-year-old myself, I have always been hoping to find programs that I can show to my child that would be inclusive of his family structure. That time is here," says Jennifer Morris, Director of Programming, Frameline32.

Children attending these festival screenings will be entertained with episodes from the first Dottie's Magic Pockets DVD. Entitled "Doing the Flower" and "Beat Beet," each 25-minute episode features Dottie, a lesbian mom, who leads her puppet friends as they sing, laugh, and help each other through wacky adventures.

Dottie's Magic Pockets also includes characters and cartoons that represent gay families, such as purplish-pink Princess and her two Dads. A video trailer for the show is available at: http://www.dottiesmagicpockets.com/.

"We created Dottie's Magic Pockets to offer a fun, educational show that finally reflects the lives of millions of children in gay and lesbian households, including my own son. We are delighted and honored to be accepted into these distinguished film festivals!" says Tammy Stoner, Creator of Dottie's Magic Pockets.
