Special Episode Pulls Back The Veil On The Inner Workings Of The Bush White House Tuesday, June 10 at 8:00 p.m. ET

In the interview McClellan shares insights with Rather from the newly released book, "What Happened: Inside the Bush White House and Washington's Culture of Deception." These insights touch not only upon the inner workings of the Bush White House but especially focus on the march towards the war in Iraq and how the Bush Administration had created a special in-house group to "market" the war to the American people.
"We were engaged in essentially a political propaganda campaign," McClellan told Rather when discussing how the war in Iraq was reported to the American people. "It's the same as marketing, in my view."
However, it was the leaking of classified documents by the White House in the Valerie Plame scandal that led McClellan to resign his position as White House Press Secretary.
McClellan tells Rather that for years, the White House had decried the selective leaking of classified information, however, in the Plame scandal, the President had authorized that very same thing himself.
"It was very troubling to me," said McClellan. "I had to essentially come to the conclusion in my head that -- you know, I -- I think it's time for me to move on personally."
"Dan Rather Reports: Scott McClellan" will premiere live on HDNet on Tuesday, June 10 at 8:00 p.m. ET with an encore presentation set for 11:00 p.m. ET to accommodate West Coast Prime Time.
