Retirement Living TV and AAA Present 'Auto Travel Week' on Daily Cafe

Just In Time For Memorial Day AAA Experts Zoom In To Provide Travel Tips and Car Safety For Senior Motorists

WASHINGTON, May 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Retirement Living TV (RLTV), the first network dedicated to people 55+, announced today that it is revving up with the American Automobile Association (AAA) for "Auto Travel Week". The week long series is a map of summer travel ideas for senior motorists on Daily Cafe, the live two-hour news and current affairs show hosted by Felicia Taylor and Fred Grandy. Featuring AAA's Betsy Sell, managing director of travel, and Troy Green, AAA manager of public relations, these travel experts will reveal the AAA Memorial Day forecast and discuss car safety, trip preparation and ways to save at the pump.

In 2007, AAA estimated that about 32.1 million Americans traveled by motor vehicle on Memorial Day and according to RLTV research approximately 80 percent of older adults travel annually. "Seniors are among our nation's top travelers. By partnering with AAA, a recognized leader in travel, we will provide our audience with information that will help them navigate enjoyable, safe and affordable vacations," said Elliot Jacobson, vice president of programming and production, RLTV.

Popular vacation spots for seniors include California, Florida, Las Vegas, New York, Hawaii, Arizona, New Mexico, Alaska and Texas. "Choosing a destination is part of the fun, and AAA offers services such as AAAMaps.com and online tools that are ideal for assisting RLTV's audience," said AAA's Betsy Sell.

Soaring gas prices and a slowing economy this year make it more important than ever for seniors to plan ahead. "We are happy to team up with RLTV to provide seniors with lots of ideas about how to stretch their travel dollars. People can save money at the pump by knowing their travel route in advance, driving the speed limit, avoiding rush hour, not loading the roof rack, inflating tires and getting a tune-up," said Mike Pina, director of public relations at AAA.

The segments will air May 15, 19 - 22 during Daily Cafe's Monday - Friday, noon to 2 p.m. EDT time slot.
