The Weinstein Company Names Lee Solomon Chief Operating Officer
NEW YORK, Feb. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Lee Solomon has been named chief operating officer of The Weinstein Company, it was announced today by company co-chairman Bob and Harvey Weinstein.
Using his deep experience in entertainment finance, negotiations, acquisitions, and global content distribution, Solomon will serve as a key strategic architect, overseeing all operational and financial aspects of the Company, with the specific mandate of continuing to build up the Company's multitiered success since its inception two years ago. Specifically, Solomon will advise and direct the Company in its investments and priorities related to movies, television, emerging technologies and other new business ventures. He will work from The Weinstein Company's offices in New York City and will report directly to Bob and Harvey Weinstein.

Before joining The Weinstein Company, Solomon served as a Principal at Grosvenor Park, one of the world's leading providers of equity, debt, and tax- based financing in the motion picture industry. During his tenure, he was instrumental in arranging for the financing of twenty-eight motion pictures including most recently, Ed Zwick's "Defiance," starring Daniel Crag; "Righteous Kill," starring Robert DeNiro and Al Pacino; and "The Code," starring Morgan Freeman and Antonio Banderas. Before joining Grosvenor Park, Solomon was the Executive Vice-President of Business Affairs for Helkon Media. Prior, Solomon was a consultant to film producer Edward R. Pressman while concurrently holding the position of Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for Quadra Entertainment.
He holds an M.B.A. from The Stern School of Business at New York University with an emphasis in Finance and a B.A. from the University of Rochester. He is married with three children.
