"Lily is a natural in front of the camera," said Ms. Kaplan. "She can think on her feet and is comfortable interviewing a wide range of people -- from the biggest stars in Hollywood to the kid who just got slimed at the mall. As a rising young star herself, she's totally plugged into the latest entertainment and pop culture trends."
No stranger to the camera, the entertainment industry has been a big part of Collins' life from the time she was born in West Sussex, England. The daughter of superstar musician Phil Collins, she started acting when she was an infant with a role on the British version of the television series "Growing Pains." Ms. Collins moved to Los Angeles with her mother at age six, where she later took her love of acting and singing to the stage, performing musical theater and drama at the Youth Academy for Dramatic Arts. She discovered her passion for journalism at age 15, when she began working for the popular fashion magazine ELLEGIRL UK, where she designed a page informing readers on current Hollywood trends and Los Angeles hot spots. Encouraged by positive reader response, Ms. Collins extended her interest in writing and reporting to television with a guest correspondent stint last summer on Nickelodeon's "Slime Across America" tour. She has also ventured into the world of modeling and is currently signed with NEXT modeling agency. Ms. Collins is a graduate of the prestigious Harvard Westlake High School in Los Angeles and currently attends the University of Southern California's Annenberg School for Communications where she is studying broadcast journalism. She is the first college representative to sit on the board of The Maple Counseling Center, where she is an advocate of the "teens helping teens" program through peer support groups.
