The selection was made based on Blatt's debut release "Out of the Woodwork". This album was also nominated as a finalist for Best Album - New Age by the Independent Music Awards. Released in early 2007, the album hit the Top Ten on the NAR's Top 100 chart. Throughout 2007, "Out of the Woodwork" had a massive appeal on radio and was played on a significant number of stations everywhere from New York, L.A., Boston and Philly to Houston and Seattle as well as internationally. Blatt has also found a loyal audience on Satellite & Cable radio and on Lifestyle and Online channels. Blatt's music has also been used for film and television and his song: "Here We Go" will appear in the Tom Greene film soundtrack Shred 2. Additionally, other Blatt songs are scheduled to be used for both the radio and Showtime TV versions of NPR's "This American Life".
"As a solo instrumentalist, I have to let my guitar be my voice," Blatt says. "I try to create moods and express feelings by using alternate tunings, by careful attention to musical dynamics and intonation and by layering percussive sounds behind the main voice of the guitar. I'm always delighted when I receive feedback from people who connect with my music and I am truly honored by the announcement that my work was selected as a finalist in the 2007 NAR Lifestyle Music Awards."
