The first-of-its-kind program will provide 500,000 free dog- and cat-training DVDs per quarter to new pet parents of adopted pets through participating shelters.

Common issues include house training, crate training, chewing, jumping, mouthing and teaching manners for dogs. Topics in the videos also include preparing your home, litter box training, playtime, scratching, introductions to kids and other pets and spraying for cats.
