'Cuisine for a Cause' Helps Nourish 10 Local Charities
DETROIT, Feb. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Opus One restaurant, News/Talk 760 WJR and Ford Motor Company are pleased to announce that the second annual "Cuisine for a Cause" launched successfully on February 1st. Since the program's kick- off, "Cuisine for a Cause" has already raised $3,659 for ten local non-profit organizations.
"Cuisine for a Cause" is a charitable dining program created to raise funds for ten local non-profit organizations and is currently running through April 19, 2008. Throughout the course of this ten-week campaign, Opus One will donate 25 percent of all funds generated from non-discounted a la carte dining room guest checks from Monday through Thursday. During those days Opus One patrons may choose which charity will benefit from their particular dining experience.
Additionally, each Friday and Saturday, Opus One will donate 25 percent of the entire dining receipts that day to one of the ten charities highlighted each week. Proceeds from the first two weekends include a combined $2,274 raised for The Henry Ford Health System Josephine Ford Cancer Center and Think Detroit PAL. The remaining charitable schedule is as follows:

February 29 and March 1 The Children's Center
March 7 and 8 Forgotten Harvest
March 14 and 15 Michigan Opera Theatre
March 28 and 29 ALS of Michigan, Inc. - Lou Gehrig's Disease
April 4 and 5 Detroit Symphony Orchestra Volunteer Council
April 11 and 12 Children's Hospital of Michigan
April 18 and 19 American Red Cross - Southeastern Michigan

"Cuisine for a Cause" culminates with a celebratory wine-tasting event that will include an auction of one-of-a-kind items to be held at the Ford Conference and Event Center in Dearborn on April 25, 2008.
