America's Vote Determined New Dove(R) Real Woman Ad
Private Practice's Amy Brenneman Introduced Ad Live During Commercial Break in The Oscars(R)
ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS, N.J., Feb. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Last night America selected its favorite Dove(R) Body Wash Ad, created by real woman Celeste Wouden of Mantua, Utah, as part of the Dove Supreme Cream Oil Body Wash Ad Contest. The Dove(R) Supreme Cream Oil Body Wash Ad Contest invited real women to share their views on luxury in a 30-second ad. The brand received an overwhelming response with over 3,500 real women submitting entries, more than doubling last year's inaugural contest submissions. Two top spots were revealed during a commercial break in The Oscars(R). Viewers then had one hour to vote online or by text for their favorite of the two finalists' ads. "Private Practice" star Amy Brenneman announced America's favorite ad during a commercial break later in the awards show.
"The Dove Supreme Cream Oil Body Wash Ad Contest spotlighted how real women experience luxury every day," said Brenneman. "As a working mother of two, I can certainly relate to the simplicity of their indulgences from spending quiet time alone to taking a relaxing shower."
Submissions in the Dove Supreme Cream Oil Body Wash Ad Contest captured the essence of the new body washes and the brand's philosophy. The top five entries were selected by a panel of judges. Judging criteria to determine the two top winners was based on originality and creativity of the content, adherence to the original creative assignment, online voting and the overall appeal. America then selected its favorite ad "Speedy Spa" from between the top two finalists via live vote.
The new ad entitled "Speedy Spa" TV spot begins by humorously illustrating a woman's hurried shower routine. It continues by demonstrating how the moisturizing benefits and luxurious lather of the new Dove Supreme Cream Oil Body Washes allow her to enjoy a pampering shower experience every day, even when short on time.
"I was honored when the judges selected my ad as a finalist but the biggest compliment was being selected as America's favorite," said Wouden. "I have followed the Dove Campaign for Real Beauty from the beginning and love how it continues to find opportunities to celebrate all real women. I am so excited to be part of this iconic campaign."
Wouden, along with the four other finalists, Sheena Narehood from Pittsburgh, PA, Lisa Bolden from Ashland, OR, Christina Printz from Goodlettsville, TN and Heather Jo Purcell from Niantic, CT, received an all- expense paid trip to L.A. for Oscar(R) weekend. The women enjoyed five days of Hollywood indulgence including dining at L.A. hotspots, pampering spa treatments and shopping with a personal stylist. All finalists celebrated at a private viewing party in L.A. and watched together as the top two ads were revealed. The anticipation heightened while the women waited for America's favorite to be introduced. The finalists' entries can be viewed at www.dovecreamoil.com.
"We received a surprising number of responses to this year's contest but the best part was seeing entries from generations of real women in their teens through their 70s," said Kathy O'Brien, Dove marketing director. "Our luxury is having such a diverse group of women celebrating the launch of the new Supreme Cream Oils Body Washes."
Dove Supreme Cream Oil Body Washes in Sleek Satin and Ultra Rich Velvet utilize advanced technology to provide top moisturization benefits and a rich and luxurious shower experience. The new Dove Supreme Cream Oil Body Washes use special technology to whip cream and oil into an exceptionally rich, smooth cream that leaves you feeling like irresistibly Sleek Satin and Ultra Rich Velvet. The Dove Supreme Cream Oil Body Washes launched in January 2008 and are sold in food, drug, mass and club retail stores.
