Alliance for Digital Equality Honors NFL's Harold Henderson, Business Leader Ernest Green and Entertainment Legend Clarence Avant During Pre-Super Bowl XLII Festivities
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., Feb. 9 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Alliance for Digital Equality kicked off their celebration of the 42nd Super Bowl at the Wild Fish Grille in Scottsdale, AZ with a tribute to the National Football League's Harold Henderson, noted businessman Ernest Green and music industry legend Clarence Avant.

This annual event has become a landmark during the pre-Super Bowl festivities over the past several years, and it is the brainchild of The Alliance's Chairman Julius H. Hollis. This year Mr. Hollis, Alliance Board Advisor Robert Shumake, and fellow co-hosts Earl Cummings (Houston), Daniel Halpern (Atlanta), Willard Jackson (Houston), Lloyd Moore (Miami), David Rivers (Charleston, South Carolina), and Willie Woods (New York), honored Harold Henderson for his tireless work on behalf of the NFL and its players.
Mr. Henderson, the NFL Executive Vice President for Labor Relations and Chairman of the NFL Management Council Executive Committee, is the driving force behind the NFL Player Programs. "These programs, under the expert guidance of Mr. Henderson, provide invaluable assistance to players in the areas of financial planning and money management, continuing education, business opportunities and counseling, and more importantly, their post NFL career planning," stated Alliance Chairman Hollis. "It's with great pride that we honor the achievements of Mr. Henderson and the NFL."
Also honored at the annual pre-Super Bowl event were Senior Managing Director of Lehman Brothers Ernest Green, and Clarence Avant, the Chairman of Interior Music Corporation and Avant Garde Music Publishing, Inc., an entertainment industry pioneer and innovator. "We also salute these two great men for their accomplishments, leadership and determination in paving the way for others in their respective fields," said Mr. Hollis.
On hand to pay tribute to the evening's three honorees were Congressman Gregory W. Meeks (New York), Executive Vice President of The Southern Company Chris Womack, celebrity chef Marvin Woods of Diaspora Foods, Attorney Ron Ross of Troutman Sanders and a member of the Washington, DC Sports Authority, Gary Love Vice President of Arvin Meritor and a Trustee of Dartmouth College and Kansas City businesswoman Georgia Buchanan, wife of the late Buck Buchanan NFL Hall of Famer and former player of the Kansas City Chiefs.
