WHAT Wim Hof will stand up to his neck in a clear 6 ft. high container
filled with 1,550 lbs. of ice in Rockefeller Center tomorrow
morning -- for 35 minutes!

It's all practice. Hof will go for the real gold (or cold?) the
next day, Sat., Jan. 26, at 2 pm, outside the Rubin Museum of Art,
150 W 17th Street (at 6th Avenue) when he will chill for an hour
and 12 minutes in an attempt to best his own Guinness Book of
World Records citation.

On Saturday at 4 pm, after his feat, Hof will talk to the public
in the Rubin's auditorium.

Hof controls his body temperature by the tantric practice of
tumo -- and is the only non-Tibetan in the world to have mastered
the art.

WHY Hof's extraordinary demonstrations kick off BRAINWAVE, a citywide
series exploring how art, music, and meditation affect the brain.

Presenting more than 100 events in New York City through June
2008, the BRAINWAVE series is the brainchild of six non-profit
organizations: Rubin Museum of Art, Exit Art, Graduate Center of
the City University of New York (CUNY), The Philoctetes Center for
the Multidisciplinary Study of Imagination, and the School of
Visual Arts (SVA) in association with the American Museum of
Natural History.
