Spout Partners With MySpace to Deliver Exclusive Video Coverage From Sundance 2008
Spout.com Continues Commitment to Independent Film Community By Bringing Indies Buzz to Leading Social Network
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., Jan. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Spout.com today announced an exclusive partnership with MySpace, the world's most popular social network, to bring the frenzy and films of the 2008 Sundance Film Festival to the MySpace Film community. Spout's insight on the festival will come direct from "Butterknife" filmmakers Joe Swanberg and Ronald Bronstein, as well as industry veteran blogger Karina Longworth who will be creating exclusive broadcast coverage direct from the festival. By providing content from cutting edge filmmakers, Spout will not only present the MySpace community with a fresh perspective on filmmaking, but will also allow independent filmmakers to have a voice outside of more traditional channels.
"Giving filmmakers a voice in the cluttered film festival and Hollywood communities is essential for furthering the cause for independent film. Joe's creative webseries is the perfect vehicle to bring to the supportive MySpace community," says Rick DeVos, CEO of Spout. "Building a community for film fans has remained our number one commitment since we began, and this partnership helps us raise that bar once again."
The Spout coverage of the Sundance Film Festival will run on MySpace from January 17-24, 2008 and can be found online at Spout's official MySpace profile http://myspace.com/welovefilm.
Spout and MySpace will showcase exclusive videos from the star-studded film festival.
In addition to the MySpace partnership, Spout will premiere Joe Swanberg's new webseries, Butterknife, exclusively at www.spout.com/butterknife on January 28, 2008. Spout is promoting the launch through financial and promotional support. This partnership follows Spout's 2007 support of the YouTube launch of Four Eyed Monsters.
