QVC Reports Best Sales Weekend in Its 21-Year History

WEST CHESTER, Pa., Dec. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- QVC, Inc. reports a record- breaking weekend for Saturday, December 1 and Sunday, December 2, with domestic orders exceeding $105 million, the highest in the company's 21-year history. Additionally, the company's domestic Web site, QVC.com, experienced its best weekend ever with more than $25 million in orders taken.

The weekend kicked off with celebrated skincare brand philosophy claiming its biggest day in its QVC history, with over 314,000 units ordered in the 24- hour period. The key attraction of the day was the philosophy extreme gratitude four-piece fragrance collection offered as a Today's Special Value(R). Other philosophy big sellers during the day included philosophy bubbly 3-in-1 shower gel, 24 oz. and philosophy purity made simple, 32 oz.

On Sunday, QVC offered shoppers the Dell(TM) Inspiron notebook or desktop computer as a Today's Special Value(R) with more than 31,000 units ordered. During the 3 PM (ET) Dell broadcast, viewers had the rare opportunity to listen to one of the true pioneers and founders of the personal computer industry, company Chairman and CEO Michael Dell. During his QVC appearance, Mr. Dell demonstrated the product and talked to customers about the QVC offering. He also shared a little Dell history including how he started the company from a University of Texas dorm room at the age 19. In addition, eight customers who phoned in during the show were able to chat with Mr. Dell about their purchases.

"Not only did our current customer base log-on and dial-in for great products, but we also attracted more than 25,000 new customers who recognized QVC as a great destination for holiday shopping."

Additional big sellers for the weekend included the Bose(R) Wave music system; Kodak digital camera; portable GPS navigation system; Lexmark(R) wireless printer, scanner and copier; digital picture frame; Cook's Essentials(R) digital pressure cooker; and flameless candles.
