About bands:
The Material (San Diego, CA)
Catchy, clever, and LOUD -- these three words are the epitome of The Material. This 5-piece, female-fronted rock ensemble is guaranteed to be all over your radio within a year tops! Their unique blend of alternative, post- punk and super poppy vocals are exactly what will define the sound of rock to come. The quintet hails from sunny San Diego, California. The Material went into the studio to record their 6-song debut EP "Tomorrow," which was co- produced by Brian Grider and released in September 2007.
The Myriad (Seattle, WA)
Drawing rave reviews from fans and critics worldwide, The Myriad's music covers a diversely artistic panorama. Atmospheric, melodic strains fill lyrics of heartache, doubt, and guts, while epic soundtracks span thundering anthems and sincere confessions with a mighty thump! The band has toured extensively, playing with bands such as Lovedrug, mewithoutYou, Mutemath, As Tall As Lions, etc, and has quickly earned a sing-along relationship with fans everywhere ... a connection founded more on captivating performances than on-stage antics. Creative melodies evocative of at times Kent, at others Bjork, are delivered with the grand musical scope of The Verve, Radiohead and Mew. The Myriad's first full length record, "You Can't Trust a Ladder" was featured as a Staff Favorite on iTunes (alongside the White Stripes and the Foo Fighters) when it was released in June 2005. The band's forthcoming record "With Arrows, With Poise" will be released March 2007.
Them Terribles (Santa Barbara, CA)
Them Terribles are your new favorite band. Front man (and chief songwriter) Matt Green's vocals croon and crack like the lizard king choking on a mouthful of pop rocks and soda. He's a transplant, born in New Jersey, then adopted by Los Angelino parents who happened to live next door to a member of The Eagles, who incidentally kick started Matt's music fixation by giving him a drum kit. Eventually, Matt ditched the drums in favor of guitar and piano after moving up to Santa Barbara where he met his future partners in crime: Guitarist Jonny Black and Joey Benenati whose dad (a member of underground power-pop legends The Tearaways) raised him on a steady diet of verses and choruses. After cutting their teeth as teenage punters in the scrappy punk band Standard Issue back in 2003; the three of them moved down to Los Angeles, hooked up with Bay Area exile Geoff Franklin, and went to work on what would come to be known as Them Terribles. There recent self-released EP, "Rock, Paper, Terribles"; features songs like "Tangerine" and "Bullets & Guns", upbeat anthems that are bound to make your stereo turn up with reckless abandon. "Yellow Lines" and "True Love" veer off into the time zone between last call and the morning after.
