Unprecedented Partnership will be Based in Nashville

NEW YORK, Dec. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Chrysalis Music Group USA, Red Light Management and Vector Management are very proud to announce the creation of a new partnership and the birth of a revolutionary publishing company. Called CROSSFIRE3 PUBLISHING, the multi-genred, worldwide company will be based in Nashville and run by industry veteran Steve Markland. The other offices of the company will be based in Los Angeles, New York, Charlottesville, VA, and London. Each office will play a major role in directing the trajectory of the new partnership.

Created by industry leaders Will Botwin, Coran Capshaw, John Grady, Jeremy Lascelles, Ken Levitan, Kenny Macpherson and Jack Rovner, the key to this unprecedented company is that it is being shaped via the formation of a true partnership rather than merely as a joint venture. It is the first time that two separate management companies have partnered together with a publisher to form a new company. The principals of the company are formidable and each brings a specific and unique pedigree with a singular vision geared for success.

Crossfire3 will focus on building a consortium of songs, writers and artists of all styles. This distinct group of veteran partners will rely heavily and aggressively upon its combined resources, extensive depth of experience and tenured music industry relationships creating a catalogue of highly desirable content and a creative collective within the entertainment industry.

As President and Senior Executive of Chrysalis Music Division North America, Kenny MacPherson presides over one of the most diverse independent music companies in the America. MacPherson is currently working with Dan Wilson, Thom Yorke, BRMC, Daniel Lanois, Joe Henry, Velvet Revolver, Ray LaMontagne and My Morning Jacket, to name a few. Chrysalis is also home to a legendary catalogue encompassing the hits of Outkast, Blondie, David Bowie, Billy Idol, Jethro Tull, Paul Anka and Cy Coleman.

Jeremy Lascelles is the Chief Executive of Chrysalis Music for the world. He started his career in the early 70's as a band and tour manager before joining Virgin Records in 1979. He spent 13 years there in various A&R and MD roles either signing or working with artists such as Phil Collins, XTC, Human League and Belinda Carlisle, before joining Chrysalis as MD of Chrysalis Music in 1994. He has overseen the company's growth and expansion ever since, including the signing of artists like David Gray, Portishead, Morcheeba, Feeder, Athlete, among many others.

Red Light Management:

Coran Capshaw founded Red Light Management in 1991 and is the personal manager for Dave Matthews Band. Since the company's inception, its roster has grown to over 30 artists, including The Decemberists, Alanis Morisette, Ben Harper, Band of Horses, Chris Cornell, Robert Randolph, Third Day, Rodney Atkins, Say Anything, Manchester Orchestra and Trey Anastasio. In 2000, Capshaw created Musictoday, which is now owned by Live Nation. Also in 2000, Capshaw co-founded the New York-based ATO Records, a leading US independent label with a strong reputation for artist development. Capshaw is co-owner of the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival.

Will Botwin joined as President and CEO of Red Light Management and ATO Records a year ago. Prior to joining the companies, he served as President and Chairman of Columbia Records Group. At Columbia, he oversaw the label as it racked up a record seven consecutive years as the number one record label in America. Previous to that, Botwin founded and operated Side One Management, home to such artists as Liz Phair, Luscious Jackson, Los Lobos, Steve Earle, John Hiatt and Roseanne Cash.

John Grady is a 31-year music business veteran. He has been everything from a college representative for A&M Records in 1976, to a retail store manager, promotion man, salesman, marketer and finally President of Sony Music Nashville & DMZ Music.

Vector Management:

Vector Principals Ken Levitan and Jack Rovner are partners in one of the most successful management companies in the business, working with Bon Jovi, Emmylou Harris, Trace Atkins, Patty Griffin, Kings of Leon, Hank Williams, Jr., Kid Rock, Ben Folds, Lynyrd Skynyrd the B-52s and others. They also founded the thriving Vector Recordings. The label is home to the critically acclaimed Damien Rice, and has released Grammy-nominated records by Queen Latifah and Herbie Hancock. Vector has offices in Nashville and New York.

Crossfire3 Publishing:

Steve Markland's publishing roots run deep. He opened the Windswept office on Music Row in Nashville 11 years ago and built it up to the powerhouse it is today. Starting out in A&R for RCA Nashville, Markland went on to work at Warner Chappell and Patrick Joseph Music Group. Working with such writers as Al Anderson and Jeffrey Steele, both BMI writers of the year. Steve has been apart of numerous BMI/ASCAP/SESAC most performed songs of the year and developed the careers some of Nashville's most promising talent.
