My Damn Channel Launches Season Two of 'Wainy Days'
David Wain's Popular Comic Web Series Returns with 10 All-New Episodes
NEW YORK, Nov. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- My Damn Channel (www.MyDamnChannel.com), the entertainment studio and new media platform, today announced that its most popular original web series, "Wainy Days," is returning for a second season. "Wainy Days" is the brainchild of its creator, writer and director, David Wain. The weekly series was developed and produced exclusively for My Damn Channel and follows the romantic misadventures of Wain, along with a cast of name co-stars from film and television comedies, including Jonah Hill ("Knocked Up," "Superbad"), Michael Ian Black ("The State," "Stella"), Jason Sudeikis (Saturday Night Live), Rashida Jones ("The Office"), Jennifer Westfeldt ("Kissing Jessica Stein"), and Rob Corddry ("The Daily Show"). "Wainy Days" has captured a large Internet audience in the past 100 days, with nearly one million views to date.
This week's episode, titled "Zandy," (http://www.mydamnchannel.com/channel.aspx?episode=268) picks up where season one left off in October, with David facing the prospect of fatherhood after finding love with his best friend Zandy. Season two of "Wainy Days" includes 10 new episodes airing every Monday at www.MyDamnChannel.com. Wain, a successful film director whose credits include "Wet Hot American Summer" and "The Ten," is currently filming his latest theatrical feature, an untitled comedy for Universal, starring Seann William Scott, Paul Rudd, Jane Lynch, Elizabeth Banks and Christopher Mintz-Plasse.
"'Wainy Days' is my most personal project to date, and I'm thrilled with the response it's gotten," said David Wain. "There's no match for the creative freedom and wide reach the Internet provides. Season 1 was fun, but Season 2 is gonna be OFF THE HOOK."
"'Wainy Days' is our most successful series because David proves what happens when the suits get out of the way and creative people run the show," added Rob Barnett, President and CEO of My Damn Channel. "While old media tries to manufacture 'the next Seinfeld,' we're back with season two of our very own 'Dirty Seinfeld.'"
My Damn Channel is nominated twice in this year's inaugural TV Guide Online Video Awards for Best Comedy Web Site and Funniest Web Video for Harry Shearer's "Waterboardin', USA". Vote now at: http://www.tvguide.com/Special/OnlineVideoAwards/Default.aspx.
