Congressman Jose E. Serrano Criticizes U.S. Lack of Attention to Latin America During Azteca America's Political Forum 'Issues: Caras y Voces'

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Azteca America, the fastest-growing Hispanic television network in the United States, is proud to have hosted Congressman Jose E. Serrano on this Monday's broadcast of "Issues: Caras y Voces", a political forum hosted by veteran Latino journalist Armando Guzman.

Congressman Serrano (D-NY) represents a district that is one of the smallest in the country geographically, consisting of a few miles of the heavily urbanized and populated South Bronx in New York City. His district is also one of the most densely populated and one of the few majority Hispanic districts in the country.

He is one of the few U.S. elected officials who embraces Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, and openly criticizes the U.S. government for not reaching out to other Latin American governments.

"In Bolivia we (the U.S. government) don't like Morales, instead of celebrating the first indigenous president. In Ecuador, we don't like Correa, instead of celebrating that he was educated in this country, and speaks English as well or better than I do. In Brazil, at times we have problems with Lula. We criticize the wife of Kirchner because she won the presidency. We don't know what to do with Bachelet. And we don't want to know anything about Ortega."

"Issues: Caras y Voces" features top leaders that impact the Hispanic community through one-on-one interviews conducted by Armando Guzman. Covering the White House and the Capitol for almost two decades, Mr. Guzman is one of the most respected correspondents in Washington. The interview forum airs every Monday evening during Noticiero Azteca America, the network news broadcast of Azteca America.

Past guests of "Issues: Caras y Voces" include: New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson, California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, Senator Mel Martinez (R-FL), Congressman Xavier Becerra (D-CA), Senator Harry Reid (D-NV), former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney and Arizona Governor Janet Napolitano.

Don't Miss "Issues: Caras y Voces" Mondays during the transmission of Noticiero Azteca America, at 11:00 pm EST and PST / 10:00 pm CST.

Webcast repetitions are available at http://www.aztecaamerica.com/coporate and at http://www.fundacionaztecaamerica.org/.

The forum is also broadcast in Mexico on Proyecto 40.
